32.) If
the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the saints of earlier eras are no longer
alive, how can they spiritually assist individuals?
Anyone who
believes the Prophet Muhammad or the other friends of God are not very much
spiritually alive have not read the Quran with sufficient care. For example, proof
of this is given in 3:169-170.
Moreover,
it is rather strange how people are prepared to credit Iblis or Satan, who rebels against
Allah, with the ability to be anywhere and everywhere at all times, and, yet, they would
wish to argue that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and other awliya, who are servants
of Allah, have the capacity to be nowhere, at any time, under any circumstance.
Furthermore, if Muhammad (peace be upon him) was a Prophet when Adam (peace be upon him)
was between water and clay, then what is preventing Muhammad (peace be upon him) from
being a Prophet even now, some fourteen hundred years after passing away from his physical
body since, quite clearly, Prophethood does not necessarily depend on biological
existence.
