Cassiopaean Hermeneutics - Introduction
A visitor to this Sufi Community Learning Center made contact via e-mail and, among other things, began talking about a group of people who seemed to like what the Sufi tradition had to say about the mystical path - especially, as outlined through the works of Ibn al-'Arabi. However, the group of people to whom this visitor was alluding also approached things from a perspective that the visitor found both interesting, as well as puzzling.

More specifically, the aforementioned group of individuals operated out of a paradigm which, to some extent, revolved around a set of communications which, apparently, had been channeled via beings who referred to themselves as the Cassiopaeans. They described themeselves as 6th density (a level of consciousness or awareness), STO (Service To Others) beings who were responding to a request for assistance by one of the group members concerning matters of spirituality, life, identity, meaning, purpose, truth, and reality. In addition, they indicated that they (the Cassiopaeans) were the future of the person or people they were addressing.

Before you roll your eyes and click to elsewhere on the Internet, you might want to consider a few possibilities. The revelations which have come to Muhammad, Jesus, Moses, David, Abraham, and others (peace and blessings be upon them all) are a form of channeling that comes via the Archangel Gabriel (peace be upon him). Moreover, the unveiling which comes through mystical experiences is a form of channeling known as tajalli which 'descends' on the individual through the Grace of God. Sensory experiences are a form of channeling in which wave forms from the physical/material world are mediated by, among other dimensions of being, the human brain. Thought, itself, is a form of channeling in which the quality of intelligence is filtered through, or channeled by, the nafs, or the heart, or the spirit, or whatever interior faculty, or set of such faculties, that is tapping into the streaming of Aql (both in the sense of spiritual insight, as well as in the sense of everyday sorts of reasoning) which is being illuminated within the realm of awareness or consciousness. And, finally, education, television, radio, and the Internet are all modalities of channeling information to us - information which may, or may not, be reliable, true, or of value - and we are the 'mediums' who must decide about the character of that which is being channeled to, and through, us.

The issue is not whether channeling constitutes a real - as opposed to an illusory, delusional, or pathological - form of communication. The issue is whether any given instance of channeling is reliable and, thereby, gives expression to certain dimensions of the Truth or Reality.

Thus, one might ask with respect to the previously mentioned Cassiopaean communications: are they reliable? Do they constitute a form of guidance or misguidance? Are the Cassiopaeans trying to perform a sincere service to others by trying to help some people who were seeking spiritual assistance, or are they agents of a hidden agenda intended to confuse, misdirect, and spread disinformation to anyone who opens themselves up to such a process of channeling? Are the Cassiopaeans sincere in what they say but, perhaps, mistaken about this or that aspect of what they are communicating to human beings?

Whatever the nature of the decisions and judgments one makes concerning the identity, intent, and purposes of the beings who refer to themselves as Cassiopaeans, nevertheless, as far as the Cassiopaean-related material in this section of the Sufi Learning Community Center is concerned, such evaluations are, in a sense, irrelevant. The ensuing information and commentary on that information is intended as so much 'Food for Thought' through which a wide variety of themes and issues are critically explored for the purpose of raising questions, developing alternative possibilities, and pointing out possible difficulties and problems with the Cassiopaean-related material that also have potential ramifications for reflecting on, and contemplating about, spirituality and mysticism in general.

I have often found that the books, articles, and so on which were of most use to me were not necessarily the ones with which I agreed, but, rather, the material which induced me to begin to critically reflect on certain issues or problems that were of interest or value to myself. When I finally went to the web pages that contained the Cassiopaean communications, together with various meditative responses concerning those communications, there were things which I read that resonated with some of my own ideas, values, and understandings, but there also was a great deal which I read which either seemed problematic or required further critical consideration.

The person who wrote - very extensively - about the Cassiopaean communications on the web site alluded to above, is an intelligent and, seemingly, sincere individual who has journeyed along a life-long quest for the Truth - often through non-traditional means. She has read broadly, and she has thought a lot about what she has read.

More importantly, she is someone who is critically skeptical of what she reads, hears, and observes. Consequently, she tries, as much as possible, to put everything she encounters through a gauntlet of tests and challenges in order to separate the wheat of Truth from the chaff of falsehood, illusion, and delusion.

To what extent she has succeeded in such empirical endeavors is another matter. In fact, to a certain extent, the material in this section of the Sufi Community Learning Center is an attempt to address precisely that issue.

Although the following overview is, of necessity, compressed, I believe it conveys something of the basic flavor of the material which is being offered up for possible consumption in the aforementioned Cassiopaean-related web site. In essence, the Cassiopaeans have said that there are 7 levels of density (modalities of awareness) - ranging from the purely material on up to Unity with Divinity. Human beings are, for the most part, embedded in density 3 which, among other things, is regulated by physical/material laws.

Beings who have free will come in a variety of species. Each of these species may be aligned with STS (service to self) forces or with STO (service to others) forces and, there is a cosmic dance (not necessarily a war or a battle) which has been going on for thousands of years as part of a cyclic process which constitutes one of the fundamental principles of the universe . Furthermore, many, if not most, of these STS and STO beings (including human beings) live within a realm where the 'Prime Directive', if you will (I know, it sounds like Star Trek), is the right - with certain exceptions - of all beings (whether STS or STO) to go about their lives free from anything which would undermine, or unduely influence, their right to choose how to pursue their lives.

According to the Cassiopaeans, the vast majority of human beings are asleep or in a waking trance of sorts. There are STS forces which currently, and in the past, have been quite busy setting in place mechanisms and processes which are designed to keep human beings asleep or entranced - and, apparently, many kinds of religious institutions and activities, along with a variety of governmental, military, social, and educational ones, have been exploited to further this purpose of keeping human beings in an entranced state of somnambulism.

Most notable among those STS beings who desire to enslave human kind are a species of 4th density, shape-shifting, hyper-dimensional, time-traveling, techno-wizards (who, among other things, have advanced knowledge of genetic engineering techniques) that are referred to, 'affectionately', as the Lizzies. These beings not only intend to enslave human kind, they have been intent on (in the 'past', present, and 'future') domesticating human kind for purposes of feeding off the latter - emotionally, spiritually, and, even physically.

The Cassiopaeans maintain that sometime within the next three to 14 years, there will be an event horizon which takes place involving the Earth and this sector of the Universe. This 'event' is referred to as a 'Wave' of some kind which is cyclic in nature and has not occurred for some 300,000-plus years.

Among other things, this 'Wave' is described as both an event of extraordinary transformational possibilities, as well as an opportunity which will not come again for another 300,000-plus years. The Lizzies are planning on utilizing some of the potential of that 'Wave' to take final control of human beings - both in 3rd level density, as well as in 4th level density - and the latter has been described, somewhat elusively, as a realm or dimension where the laws with which we are familiar in 3rd density will no longer be applicable.

For human beings, the approaching 'Wave' event may be viewed in two broad ways. On the one hand, it gives expression to the possibility of the demise of the human race in which we become little more than 'cattle' to be bred and slaughtered by another species of being, while, on the other hand, the 'Wave' event constitutes a chance to develop in knowledge, understanding, spirituality, and awareness.

The choice is ours. However, the nature of this choice will be quite different for those who become sufficiently 'awake' by the time of the 'Wave's arrival to be able to take advantage of the opportunity, relative to the nature of the choice of those who remain in an induced sleep and, as a result, are slated to become appetizers for canabalistic, 4th density, STS, shape-shifting, hyper-dimensional, time-traveling techno-wizard vampires.

Is the foregoing a lot of non-sense? Well, before dismissing it out of hand, there may be a few things which you might want to reflect upon - things which have to do with ideas, beliefs and values which are part of the Sufi spiritual tradition.

First of all, if one studies the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) one is aware of the fact that all of the lesser signs of the Latter Days are already in place. No one knows when the greater signs - spoken of in both the Book of Revelations, as well in the aforementioned Hadith - of the Latter Days will occur, but it could be tomorrow, or next year, or within a decade, or, maybe, not for a hundred years or more.

However, the 'Wave' to which the Cassiopaeans make reference could be connected to events related to the greater signs of the Latter Days. These include the appearance of: Dajjal; the 'Beast'; the Mahdi (may God be pleased with him); Jesus (peace be upon him), as well as the Gog and Magog.

When the greater signs of the Latter Days occur, that will be a time of great trials, suffering, death, chaos, struggle, challenge, confusion, together with the possibility of both tremendous spiritual loss and gain. So, conceivably, the 'Wave' event to which the Cassiopaeans refer may be just their way of describing or understanding or alluding to events of the Latter Days.

Furthermore, although one might feel or believe or think or conclude that the idea of a cannabalistic, 4th density, STS, hyper-dimensional shape-shifting, time-traveling, techno-wizard vampires who have a great enmity for human kind is rather fanciful, there are some possibilities to reflect upon which may give you pause. First of all, and to follow up on the Latter Day theme noted above, no one really knows who or what the Gog and Magog are, or what form the dajjal (the anti-Christ or imposter) will assume, or how the 'Beast' will fit into all of this.

All that is really known is that many, many people will die and, as well, there will be great suffering before things come, by the Grace of Allah, to a final resolution. One can, if one wishes, assume that whatever is going to happen will not involve cannabalistic, 4th density, STS hyper-dimensional, shape-shifting, time-traveling, techno-wizard emotional vampires - but, it is possible that such wishing may be just so much whistling past the cemetary.

This is not to say that the Cassiopaeans are 100 % correct about forthcoming events. On the other hand, they may not be all wrong either. The challenge, if this is the sort of thing which intrigues one, is not only to determine just how large a percentage of what has been communicated by the Cassiopaeans can be believed, but, as well, to determine what the precise, substantive character of the information is which makes up such a percentage.

A second set of considerations revolves around the so-called 'abduction phenomenon' (for a more detailed discussion of this, please go to: Alien Abduction). John Mack, a Harvard psychiatrist has investigated this phenomenon at some length during counseling or therapy sessions with individuals who claim to have been abducted, and while Dr. Mack does not conclude that Earth is being invaded by aliens, he does feel that whatever the actual nature of the abduction phenomenon is, the phenomenon involves 'realities' which do not fit in neatly with our preconceived notions about how the Universe might operate.

One possibility - and it is just one among a number of scenarios - is that the abduction phenomenon may have something to do with the activity of Jinn. From an Islamic perspective, Jinn are a species of being who, like human kind, have free will through which the struggle between good (STO?) and evil (STS?) take place. The Qur'an describes Jinn as being made from 'smokeless fire' - which may be some form of energy. Whatever the reality of their nature, they have the capacity to: shape-shift; travel within the blood of human beings (and, thereby, gain access to some of our thoughts); remain invisible to us, for the most part, and, in a sense, they live in another dimension but are capable of traveling between certain dimensions (namely, their dimension and ours) which makes them hyper-dimensional. All of these capabilities are consistent with much of what has been reported by abductees in relation to aliens.

In addition, Jinn are said to have extremely long life spans (sometimes in the thousands of years), and, more importantly, a segment of them are reported to have a hatred for human kind because according to legend, Jinn existed prior to the advent of human kind, and, yet, human beings were said to have the potential to achieve greater spiritual heights than did the Jinn. Moreover, to add 'insult' to 'injury' the Jinn were banished from Earth and dispersed to alam al-mithal, the world of symbols and similitudes, in order to provide human beings with a place in which to live,

One of the chiefs of the Jinn, Iblis or Satan, was cast out of a lofty spiritual station when he fell prey to the presence of arrogance, ignorance, and pride within him, and, as a result, disobeyed the Divine Command to fall prostrate before the light of the Divine spirit which had been breathed into the vice-reagent of Divinity - namely, Adam (peace be upon him). Iblis had vowed to try to lead human kind astray wherever possible.

There are a lot of similarities, and some differences, between the descriptions passed on by the Cassiopaeans with respect to the 4th density STS Lizzies, and those Jinn, who like Iblis, are intent on destroying human kind. Fair and balanced, you decide what the truth of the matter is, but if one believes the relevant aspects of Islamic and Sufi spirituality, then, one cannot immediately dismiss, out of hand, what is being said by the Cassiopaeans.

One has to examine the matter more closely. And, part of this more rigorous examination involves asking: who are the Cassiopaeans?

Are they counter-intelligence operatives of the STS Jinn who are engaged in a program of disinformation, misinformation, and misguidance - using both truth and falsehood to confuse people and hide the real intentions of such activity? Or, are they some species of being who, according to their own hermeneutical understanding of things (which may not be completely correct), actually are interested in helping human beings to awaken to the dream which we call our lives.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is reported to have said that "Human beings live in a state of sleep, and when they die, they awaken." He also is reported to have said that: "This life is maintained in existence by illusion."

Are the Cassiopaeans a force which is seeking to keep us asleep and caught up in illusions? Or, are they truly compassionate STO beings who have empathy for the human situation?

Shakespeare said: "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." The Prophets, the books of revelation, and the mystics have all spoken to not only the truth of this statement, but to the fact that its truth transcends whatever it was that Shakespeare had in mind when he wrote it.

The Cassiopaean-related material in this section of the Sufi Community Learning Center is an invitation to go on a journey of reflection, contemplation, and consideration. You are not being asked to agree with the perspective of either the Cassiopaeans, or the group which has published information and ideas related to those communications, or even my commentary on that material. You are being asked to travel along a less traveled road, and, perhaps, as Robert Frost indicated, this may make all the difference.

The ideas and reflections which are given expression in this section of the Learning Center cover a great deal of ground, ranging from: spirituality, to: neruo-chemistry, psychology, mythology, physics, and more. The Cassiopaean communications serve as an opportunity to think about matters that you might not otherwise do, or to think about possibilities from a number of perspectives which may challenge you to critically reflect on your own ideas about the nature of truth, and the many problems which surround the process of trying to differentiate between illusion and reality.

A final caveat is worth stating. My commentary on the Cassiopaean related material is not meant, in any way, to be definitive. It is meant to be suggestive of possibilities and alternatives which may have been not considered by the people who have provided their own commentary on the Cassiopaean communications.

Consequently, sometimes my comments are quite brief and stated through the asking of a question or the stating of a perceived problem or lacunae inherent in the Cassiopaean-related commentary of the other web site. On other occasions, my comments are somewhat more extensive.

In a sense, one might treat my commentary as sort of working notes. For the most part, my comments constitute first impressions of the material I was reading.

I have included large chunks of material from the Casssiopaean web site in order to provide both a general, background context, as well, as to establish a specific context against which my comments are intended to probe and push. Usually, whenever the format of the 'borrowed material' appears in question and answer format, this involves text drawn directly from the Cassiopaean communications. On most other occasions, when there is no Q and A format, the text was written by Laura Knight-Jadczyk and can be found, in more expanded form, through: The Wave Series. However, there are some instances in which the material being quoted comes from neither the Cassiopaean communications, nor the reflections of Laura Knight-Jadczyk, but, instead, constitute certain people whom are quoted by Laura, and, whenever possible, I have tried to indicate this ... although I may have slipped up here and there.

Most of my comments are in relation to material drawn from Chapter 10 or 11 onward of Laura Knight-Jadczyk's Wave Series. Although there was a great deal of material in the earlier chapters of the Wave Series which might have been commented on, I began to keep written track of my thoughts when she started to offer her own hermeneutical slant on how things fit together - and, for the most part, this didn't happen until fairly deep into her reflections.

I have tried to give an honest and open reading to the Cassiopaean material. I did not engage the material with the idea that Laura was part of a lunatic fringe, nor with the presumption that she, and the others who are participating with her in the Cassiopaean venture, were pathological in some way, nor with a bias that she was just plain foolish for even entertaining such ideas, nor, with the preconceived belief that she should be denigrated or castigated for her ideas and reflections .

I read the Cassiopaean-related material as writings arising from someone who is deeply interested in the nature of human potential. I also read her material from the perspective that it might serve as a useful case study with respect to the many problems and possibilities which swirl about trying to understand the nature of truth and reality in relation to human spiritual potential.

The chapter titles to be found on the menu page for Cassiopaean Hermeneutics are drawn from one of the themes which is explored in the material to which that title is linked. Therefore, although some of the contents within a given titled section is directly related to a stated title, nonetheless, there will be other material within that chapter which may have to do with other themes.

Finally, perhaps the most constructive and useful way to engage the material which is contained within this Food for Thought section is to to treat the various facets of these writings as so-many meditative or contemplative exercises. Among other things, this means one should not rush through things but stop awhile to smell, and reflect upon, the fragrance of the issues that are present on any given web page or in any given sub-section.

If a person rushes through the material, that individual is not likely to derive very much of value from the time which is spent within the following pages. Moroever, the focus of these exercises ought not just be in relation to the Cassiopaean material.

All the questions which are asked, the problems that are raised, and the themes which are explored in conjunction with the Cassiopaean communications should also be directed toward our own ideas, opinions, beliefs, attitudes, and biases concerning the nature of truth, reality, identity, purpose, meaning, spiritual capacity, freedom, and so on. We often think that we know something to be true when, in fact, all we know is what we believe to be true or real, and while the latter may be a truth of sorts (i.e., it is true that I believe such and such), such beliefs may not actually reflect the way things are - either within or without.

One does not have to agree with everything which, or even most of what, the Cassiopaeans communicate, nor does one have to swallow many of the ideas being expressed in response to such communications (whether by Laura or myself) to acknowledge the very real possibility that most of us live in a state of sleep. We may think we are awake, but there is much evidence to indicate that our state might be other than we suppose. Perhaps, you, the reader, will be able to use the various segments of the Food for Thought section of the Spiritual Health Learning Community to assist you (as one tool among many others) to struggle toward real awareness rather than persist in a state of veiled consciousness or waking dream which we, euphemistically, call 'life'.

The following link takes one, God willing, to a menu through which the interested reader will be able to connect with a series of commentaries on the Cassiopaean-related material. These Commentaries do not have to be read in any particular order.
